Destroy Yourself for MeA Poem by Soma-koBreakdown, Buildup.
that sing to your songs to break down the door- less red gates connecting us to the gods above, the idols we chant to with pearly frowns that mourn and swim from one ear to deaf ears like a Koi mistaking the fishmonger for her pond. So give me the baseless chants that sing to lyrics you squander, from melody to tune to hymn, unaware that you’re simply shadows that none here nor above can understand, and yet you sing, devout. You cry, sing, praising deities who we’ve created, who thrive on the thread of our belief. So bang your drums with rage, fill me with desire and destroy everything we’ve known, every- thing we’ve trusted, because none of it is really you. None of what you are, matters, only what I want matters, and I want you to shed tears, to shed your skin, to revel in your desires, as long as those desires harm no one else, as long as those desires, only hurt me, because I can take it, I can accept you. © 2016 Soma-ko |
