My Little Boy

My Little Boy

A Poem by Sourav

Standing in the darkest corner of the street

Counting the steps of the sun

Hoping the light will flash again

In my life, before this journey is done.

There is no wandering moon in the sky

Not a single star to see

And my little boy is so scared

Of darkness, he cries and shouts rather hopelessly.

But he wants to move also, in search of the light

Desperate enough to live

Naïve enough to think

Of the morn, as I sigh in despair and disbelief.

Where the life has grown somewhat stale with me

Empty hands have no dice to throw-

Ahead lies the graveyard of buried hopes,

Tell me my dear little boy - where you want to go!

The crossroads of life are numerous and options are sometimes illusory.
Detach yourself from emotion and pursue objective rationality.
Perspective changed and merits weighed.
Uphold the choices that you made.

Thank you.
"Ahead lies the graveyard of buried hopes,
Tell me my dear little boy - where you want to go!"
This piece has an eloquence to it that I cannot yet describe. It is a beautiful piece with some absolutely wonderful lines of perfection.
Thank you for sharing :)

Thank you Madison!
This poem was kind of sad, but in a spiritual way. Like the little boy was chasing the light of a better tomorrow.
