It may well be

It may well be

A Poem by Spit_and_Prayers
"

I found a bunch of poetry in an old journal. I don't know if it's any good, but here you are.

"

It may well be

That today’s thoughts age

That the light now known

Will soon begin to fade

Until tired and forlorn

Sickening darkness is born

It may well be

That morals will fail

That tyrants will rule

Drowning the last liberty

When soot and ash form

A strangling, consuming storm

It may well be

The knowledge will burn

The innocent will fall

Bleeding the dye of the new world

When tears replace rain

No thoughts left but pain

Even then the sun will rise

Warm hope will cleanse

The darkness from the skies

And Night will fear the dawn
