Dear Prince

Dear Prince

A Poem by Hope

Dear Prince,
I hope this finds you well
In my dreams, we had met
I stood in your hands
They were soft, and smooth
From when I last held them

Your lips moved
But nothing was said
You began to fade, as I began to fall
I was surrounded by nothingness
There I fell among emptiness

My arms were limp
My body was numb
I've become stitched, with fabric and string
I'm just a doll
Meant to be loved
But only then be tossed away

I stand alone, among these shelves
I have no heart, you stole it away
Only to use me and throw me away
I am the fool, you are the king
I am the puppet, you are the puppeteer

My strings have become tangled
I have become broken, and so I've split

Their I lay
Motionless, ripped and torn
I was never meant to be held
So I've been told

I wait for midnight
No one's in sight
Only a light
There the moon stood, in the night

You were the moon
In the night
With my heart to be filled
Ever so light, and ever so bright
You returned my heart, ever so thrilled

I am no longer a puppet,
No longer a fool
No longer a doll
I am alive
