Divinity

Divinity

A Poem by StVenant15

What if angels are just memories?

What if saints are just our friends?

What if faith exist but only in our minds?

Would it really change the world?

Would it really break our binds?

We’re each tied down in different ways

Each look up to different beliefs

You have yours, I have mine

Whether they match or diverge

Faith in oneself is what truly shines

So much of the world’s troubles spawn

From varying deities held in high regard

Which one’s true, which one’s Him or Her

Does it matter? Each to their own,

Pulled out from the darkness. Individual cures.

We each get through under different guidance

Each follow a different star

You have yours, I have mine

Whether they match or diverge

Faith in oneself is what truly shines

At the core, in everyone’s heart, love exists

Hate is not genetic, only learned

We’re all sisters and brothers

Put on this improbable, blue Earth

To share ourselves with each other

You have yours, I have mine

Peaceful harmonies that

Are always intertwined

You have yours, I have mine

Learning from another

True happiness is devine
