Pretty Hurts

They say your pretty but you don't believe it,
But you still kind of need it,
What if you say your pretty but don't believe it ?
They say beauty is in the eyes of the believer,
But what if you don't believe her ?
Pretty hurts,
But you still need to hear it,
Perfection is what you want but you can not reach it,
The world told her one thing but she felt another,
Pretty hurts
Don't you hear her?
Pretty hurts
Do you believe her ?
Being called pretty makes her feel like she is being shot with a gun,
Why you may ask?
Because she has been called ugly more than once

i am loving your style of writing.. we all talk about beauty and love but you are going against this world.. strong thoughts and very nicely put down in words.. i am glad to read your works.. keep your thoughts alive buddy.. you are really good.. n yes yes are right its hard to believe on sumthing that we hear only once in a while , but it may also be right that we are not looking at ourselves.. she is not ugly.. she is just believing what the world is saying..so in both cases whether she is beautiful or not.. its about what you want to believe on.. thanks for sharing :)

When you hear something constantly you start to believe it soo much that it gets ingrained.then when told something differently,it's almost unreal.that is exactly what this poem is saying.nice work in expressing that.
