After a Grande White Chocolate Latte

After a Grande White Chocolate Latte

A Poem by Here's What I Say
"

A delicious blend of coffee, Michael Buble music, and hopeless romance.

"

An English major
Has sweet Italiano
Dripping from her tongue
Like freshly pulled espresso

Meglio stasera
Baby go, go, go
Or as we natives say
“Fa subito!”

I need him pushed up against me
Whisper words to me
Gregory Michael’s half Italian
And this just sounds sexier on his native tongue

Never been there
I can feel the stone pavement under my heels
I smell pasta in the air
Mixed with espresso

Forget the jeans
My halter straps
Are tied tightly from the top
Of my skin tight dress

He feels so good
His taut belly
Excited my dancer in me
Move all of my insides

I need him
My desire for him
Is pushing me off my
Cushioned seat

Baby, come to me
Amore dolce
Fill me up
With him

Dancing alone
Maybe the sweet Italiano
In someone else
Will find me here today

He’s been here
All along in me
Who will recognize himself in me?
The song’s title is “It Had Better Be Tonight”

Meglio stasera
Baby go, go, go
Or as we natives say
“Fa subito!”

Or that’s what he said
The barista running at me
Telling me to shut up
And to never come back to this Starbucks again.

So creative and fun... and sexy. I loved it. The twist at the end made me smile.
It was pitch perfect... the ups, the downs, the eroticism, the humor.

Very fun write! I love you creativity and "real-life" circumstances you inject in your pieces....
I don't know Italian, but if your friend is right about it, it doesn't matter because it sounds
wonderful!

Steamy.
Frothy, even.

I'll have a triple shot of whatever you're having.

A very realistic representation of what happens when a caffeine high is combined with music. You have some very nice figurative language and strong sensory references that help keep the audience in the moment. Well done.

"Italiano" ruined it! Damn it, Stefanie, it's ITALIAN! Or of Italia decent. ^_^

Italiano sounds like Ms. Keene would say it...ick...

:P
