If I Was A Fly

If I Was A Fly

A Poem by Steve Thompson

If I was a fly on the wall I would be probably be a emo-fly
Looking through life with bright eyes,
Free-loading off of a grandmothers sweet apple pie,
In the summers,
Finding the cracks through window screens at night,
To scope out for flyswatters of course,

Because if they do have them they are good aimers,
Trust me I know,
I was flying around a few days ago in Dominick’s and I saw a man purchasing a flyswatter,
And they practice their swings before they even buy them!

SO,
I ain’t taking any chances.

(back to the subject)

If I was a fly I would sing songs at the sun-set,
And I would respect my other flying counterparts,
Like the bee’s,
The dragonfly’s, etc, etc…
A matter of fact,
I think there is a lot of segregation going on in the flying world,
I would start a sort of sit-down,
A fly-down,
So my maggots will be able to live and learn life with other animals,
That fly, of course,
That is probably what I will do,
Yep….

ok well honestly it doesnt make sense to me its very artistics but i think you need to make everything connect more in an understanding way and especially the first sentance to me really makes no sense
"If I was a fly on the wall I would be probably be a emo-fly" the whole poem just doesnt connect to me but that may just be me
