Benny Blue

Benny Blue

A Poem by StevenDanielb
"

This is about a friend from school, he had some amazing qualities but for some reason ended it with alcohol, pills, and a belt.

"
Now was the pain so much so great inside, you
Left everything you loved behind you.
While part of the neighborhood seemed to die too,
I guess we could all learn smiles lie too.
You laughed so much,
How'd you decide to,
Commit suicide with your lips and eyes blue?
We can think now and say
everything that I'd do,
To bring back a man
as tears subside you.
Reminisce about class
sitting right beside you.
As you made the class laugh
'til it made 'em cry,
your voice was defined,
With a pitch so high tuned.
All through the years,
had the pain confined you?
In a cold hearted world
no piece of mind, too much
that the world could not remind you,
Of the people who loved you, left behind, too
many too young they grieve and sigh.
So many shed tears that day they find you,
that gray, dark day, Hanging from the sky, you
Looked so young with your lips and eyes blue.
Looked like a child in the casket why'd you,
Leave the whole world with your lips and eyes blue.

I Like this a lot, its really sad, but very well written
"lips and eyes blue" I like the way you put this and ended the poem with it as well.
Its sad how real suicide is and how smiles really do lie. It makes me wonder what it takes for someone to reach their limit. Its admirable that you would write a poem for your friend. I'm sorry that his life ended in such tragic way.
