Drown

Drown

A Poem by Shanny Rowanhill
"

I can't believe this took me, what four years to finish?

"

Dear Angel, a story is never made of glory

Wait and see what is brought by destiny

And Angel, a life was taken with a knife

No one could see it would come so easily

Craved was a heart and a soul would fall apart

The rain will fall and the rain will cry for all

A woman by the river, two hands that shiver now

The rain will fall and the rain will cry for all

Of you

Drown your kids and forget that you have a daughter

Drown your kids and hope she’ll never rise from the water

Drown your fright so you can sleep at night

Drown her again

Again my friend

An era gone by and senses stupify

Come home and stay, don’t look back at yesterday

But Angel, the scream was a whisper from a dream

What’s hidden in clay will awake and find its prey

So Angel, kill this winter’s chill and

The rain will fall and a voice from darkness calls

And none are the thoughts of what evil deeds have brought

The grass will grow but the grass will also know

How you drowned your kids and forgot that you had a daughter

Drowned your kids, well she is yet to rise from the water

Drowned your fright so you could sleep at night

Would you do it again?

Again, my friend

A cruel beauty.
A sad yet nice read

You should write music, I'd buy music solely based on your lyrics, cause this is right down my alley.
A woman by the river, two hands that shiver - "gasps" Wow.
