Finding away out of the darkness

a poem about getting out of depression

Some people end up being in the
darkness and that darkness
represents sorrow

Some people have troubles getting
out of the darkness, but their not
alone because I was one of those
people who fell into darkness for
a while

I was filled with sorrow and I
thought that no one understood
me, I felt like I couldn't talk to
anyone because I thought that
they wouldn't understand me

I thought I would never find a
way out of the darkness, but I
did and it took a while for me
to go to someone and tell them
how I feel

Turns out a lot of people under-
stand me, but I didn't see it
because I was filled with sorrow

When I went to someone and told
them how I felt, they made me feel
better, they got me to be happier

Don't keep your feelings bottled up,
go to someone and talk to them

You may be filled with sorrow, but
you have friends and family that
can help you out of the darkness

You would be surprised on how
much people understand you

Don't hold back your feelings,
go talk to someone

Going to someone and getting
help is part of finding away out
of the darkness

The other part of finding away
out of the darkness is finding
something that you love to do

So all you need is 2 things,
talking to someone and finding
something that you love to do

Poetry helped me get my feelings
out and it is also something that
I love to do

Talking about how I feel helped
me too

But with writing poetry and talking
to people, it took a while for me to
be pulled out of the darkness

Finding away out of the darkness
will help you be the real you

You will find your true self and you
will be able to think straight

Your friends and family will always
be there for you

If you feel sad there will always be
someone there for you

Your family is there to listen to you,
your friends are also always there
for you

So let people help you find ways to
be yourself again

Finding away out of the darkness
will make you be yourself again

Author's Note

I have gone through a lot of things in my life and my family and friends were always there for me, but I didn't actually go to them when I needed them, I kept my feelings bottled up. I finally went to someone and now I am myself again and I'm happy that I'm myself again.
