Twilight Winter

A Poem by Strife
"
In winter between light and darkness
"

My friend,

this is the season of despair

alone on this snow-covered path

looking forward while the wind blows

carrying the bitter frost of past memories.

How foolish I was

building walls of ice around my heart.

My own hostilities keeping us apart,

it made me bitter,

it made me angry,

it made me weep,

it made me lonely.

There you were

looking at me between teardrops.

I had left you bitter and confused.

I had made you lonely enough

to cry.

My friend,

forgive me

Now in this twilight night

on the other side of this road

is a light. A warm glow

that will warm our souls and open our hearts.

The walls will melt long enough

for us to embrace and hold.

My friend,

this is the season of hope.
