Poet's Doom

Poet's Doom

A Poem by Suhd

I am a poet
Yet there's no poem
That I can claim to be truly mine
Not even this one, it's yours,
They all are.
They all are about you
About your youth___how beautiful you are
About your love___how you were left alone
Ah, The thought!
That people will always find you
That I will always find you in them___
That you will always find yourself
But they'll never find me
That you'll never find me
In my poems.

I believe if you read a writer deeply. Like a Jack London, Hemingway or Salinger tale. Their story hidden in their words. Thank you Suhd for sharing the amazing poetry.

Dear Suhd, the moment we publish a poem it becomes the property of the reader. The reader will then interpret our work as they wish. It may end up nothing like we intended. Does it matter? I hear your voice here. Make no mistake.

You are welcome. Keep writing.
Suhd,
You convey a great sadness in this piece. We all want to be found . . . I believe I found you in this poem.
Believe it or not this is you I see in this poem . . . a man seeking himself through the eyes of your reader.
Be of good cheer! You are a poet of distinction!

Thanks a lot, Tom.
Well, I think it is a very effective poem, which YOU have written. We all have our inspirations and 'muses'. Yes, they may find those in your poems, but perhaps you are safer if they don't find you! I do however see the sadness in the poem, and the emotion of disaffection, but we all have our 'down' days. I hope tomorrow is cheerier. Good for you for writing this poem.

Thank you so much :)
Rise up friend. None of us can claim our poems as our own. People read into them what they will. Your intention when you write something is hardly what will be determined when we read them.
This poem and photo tie together nicely.
I have been in your place more than once over the years, and it was always painful to lose love, but more painful never to have it.
I like the structure and set up of this. Keep writing, Suhd, you are good at it.

This is a good write.

Yeah that's the feeling I often feel.
I rather like this. I find beauty in melancholy.

Thank you!
I suppose we all hide in poems.
But even we can't find ourselves.

You're totally right.
Are you kidding, my friend??? Every moment of this poem is you as you tell her and show her how greatly she is cherished. The emotion is beautiful, as it waves through, pausing slightly to consider (Ah, the thought!), and then gently opens onto the mouth of the poem, like a river to the ocean.

I understand the gentler message of absence and separation. But you have left your standard for her to find. I don't think you can do much more. And it's funny how people can just be walking along, and suddenly trip over a basket of words that materialized out of nowhere. :):)

Blessings to you as you rise back to happiness.
