Tales of a Daughter

Tales of a Daughter

A Poem by Amanda
"

Something I wrote to get over some writer's block

"
You've hurt me, it's true,
 And I can't forgive you,
The price is too great,
 There is too much hate,
But to help understand,
 I'll tell you your hand.

You've broken a lot,
 leaving my blood to spot,
Your words sting,
 Your lies even more,
I can forgive all of that,
 Even calling me fat!

You left me in the dust,
 Just a broken bust,
Loving him more than me,
And draining me out like afternoon tea!

So when you say you love me,
I doubt it, can't you see?
I don't say it back,
You've left too many a crack,
So stay with your lover,
Really, do I need you, Mother?
