Dented Area

Dented Area

A Poem by Sorry Infamous

I dilute
my days
with dimes a dozen
or dimes thrown into detached fountains
my arid wishes wasted on deaf sculpted stone

but I will,
I will feel you again.
it is in my nature,
even those melancholy parts of your mouth
that you would not want touched by me
and my hands of mud

I am struck,
sometimes-- often

with the solemn somber thought
that when it comes to you
I am without eyes

But I will see you again
you are unavoidable
even if you evaporated
inevitably you would return
on my moist skin
far from the mad world and close to me

I clutch
my chest
within its cold chamber,
there are hollows within hollows
and blue veins tangled closed

I will love you again.

This is beautiful. A struggle of hope and determination, tenacity and faith in a love meant to be, great stuff!

The wise Linda and Emily generally don't heap their praise upon so-so writing, and they haven't broken stride here. In the face of our shortcomings and unworthiness--our dents, our "hands of mud", there is hope and affirmation all through this piece, confirmed simply but strongly, unequivocally in the final line. Very impressive piece of writing.

oh

sometimes poetry reaches out with such a familiar hand that I think I must have read it before . . .

I was surprised to find that I hadn't already left a review here

I feel like I just stepped off and into the rushing air from the ledge of truth.
Delusion is by far that greatest of soup kitchens that delays the hunger for self ...you have expressed and expelled it brilliantly in this offering.

This poem is Wonderful. I feel as though I am in the mind of this person.
It grabbed me..choked me and shook me. Its amazing to actually feel how
bad this person wants something.

even those melancholy parts of your mouth
that you would not want touched by me -- I simply adore the visualizations that you create, the way you paint with words as others would with oils.

This is very beautiful, feathered with touches of melancholy wanting, and teasing traces of desire - but you leave no doubt that you are completely in love, long before you ever say it out loud.
Great write!

You paint a deeply emotive write, filled with what was... hopeful for what may be... Here is the color of pain, remorse... filling the air where you breathe... yet, there is a future on the horizon... rich and bold. So beautifully done.
