The meetingA Story by Ngoc
Chapter 1: The Meeting…
My mind was blank… my body was frozen. I was standing still, like a mannequin that you see in stores. Everything around me was dark and hazy. I didn’t understand what was going on, but when I was regaining consciousness, I finally noticed the blood that was dripping down from the knife that I was holding in my right hand. Puzzled, I looked at the blood.
“…Is this a dream…?” as I wondered whose blood this was from.
Suddenly a cold and trembling hand grabbed hold on my ankle. “….ra…Sar…Sara, why…?” after the corpse said those words, I kicked the women in disgust. I kicked her mercilessly until she couldn’t move, no, I kicked her even when she couldn’t move anymore. I felt disgusted looking at her and wanted to remove her from my sight.
“What a disgusting creature….”
Then I finally understood what was going on, I killed this woman… my mother… When I realized this, I smiled. A smile that was full of bliss and happiness. I smiled a smile that you can’t forget. A smile that was so innocent, that you couldn’t believe that it would appear in this demonic scene. I couldn’t even believe it myself… that I finally smiled in this house with all my heart.
I killed her…
That sentence brought me full of joy that I laughed loudly. So loud that heaven and the deepest pits of hell could hear this. That moment I changed… I changed to something that can’t be turned back… I was at the point of no return…
At that point my life changed…
I heard a faint voice calling my name. It was distant, but warm. I was feeling comfortable and relaxed. I wanted to stay like this forever, but forever can’t last, can it? I was kicked hard on the side of my stomach and fell from the bench that I was lying on. As soon as I was on the hard grassy floor, I stood up suddenly and I yelled at her,
“Kala! Can you be a little gentle to me?! I could’ve been killed with that kick of yours!”
“You can’t die from a little kick like that. And besides, you wouldn’t wake up! The assembly is about to start, you should be grateful that I, your only and dearest friend woke you up from your long slumber. Now get ready!”
Kala, who was taller than me by five inches (who was only four foot nine) made me feel small and tiny. I couldn’t help but do what I was told. I didn’t want to be killed by my dear friend’s kick. So I brushed off some dirt that was on my shirt and my skirt.
Today is the day where I am starting my first year in high school at St. Acacia, a school that was named after a flower “Acacia” meaning “Love”. I remembered the school’s pledge as I walked towards the school,
“All of us have the will to love and that love should be shared.
Love your peers.
Love your teachers.
Love your friends
And most of all love your family.
Never forget this.”
- The fonder of Acacia
Agh…. I hated that pledge, every time I say those words with my mouth. I started to feel disgust and dirty. Those words never did reach me, they never have. When we are done with the pledge I always run to the washroom to wash my mouth as if they were infected with germs and that I was cleaning it off.
When I arrived at the entrance, it was full of snobbish rich kids. All they do is show off their economic positions that were given to their parents and their brand name items. I find it funny that they rely on their parents for money because they can’t do anything for themselves.
I hurried to the auditorium and found a seat next to Kala.
“Hey did you hear about our class president? I heard he is so handsome!” Kala said in her fan girl screams.
“Kala, when will you ever stop this search for your perfect prince?”
“Of course, until I find him! You know me; I don’t give up so easily!”
“…” I gave my friend a cold and emotionless stare.
“Ah it’s starting! It’s starting!” Kala taped my shoulder to signal me that the announcement was about to begin.
Both of us were in the outer seats waiting for the Class President to come out and tell his speech. I was tired and bored with this traditional routine. I was waiting for everything to end. But as soon as I thought about that, I smelled a scent. My eye widened and I was trembling.
This scent… it can’t be! That’s not possible!
I quickly looked up and saw the impossible. This scent belongs to the class president … no this belongs to “The Class”. He had dark crystal blue hair and eyes that are deep blue as the vast sea. Those eyes frighten me, even though they look kind and gentle but I know deep down they are eyes of a killer hiding from everyone in this room; a wolf in sheep clothing if I must say. He was tall and slender for a guy. He looked like a proper model student; clean cut and proper, but I wasn’t sure if that was true.
I was furious and upset! I wondered why he was here! I didn’t hear any of this from my leader! I was in my seat looking down, thinking deeply as to what is going on.
When everything was over, I quickly left to find him. I wanted answers, now! I run straight down the corridors, everyone quickly moved to the side for me to walk down. When I turned right at the corridors, I bumped into someone.
“S-sorry! Are you okay?” he extended his hand towards me.
I took hold of that hand and said, “No, it was my fault for not looking where I was going. You don’t need to apologize.” I fixed my uniform and looked at him.
I was shocked to see a beauty, long deep green hair that was tied in a ponytail to the side. Long beautiful eye lashes and his eyes were a nice hint of purple. His face was long and straight. His lips were a perfect shape to kiss upon. Also his skin was smooth and warm.
Huh …. Kala might like him… as I was thinking about her taste in men. The gentleman zapped me back from my train of thought.
I didn’t realize that I was still holding his hand.
“AH! Sorry” I quickly let go of his hand. “I was so dazed I didn’t realize I was holding your hand.” I was so embarrassed that my face was a plump tomato! Oh how I wanted to hide myself in a corner where no one could find me, not even Kala!
He laughed and said, “It’s ok you don’t have to worry yourself about it. Anyway where were you in a hurry to?”
“Huh?” I forgot that I was looking for the president! Damn it! “Sorry that I have to ask you this suddenly, but have you seen the Class President?!”
“The Prez? Oh he said he was going to the school garden. Why did you ask? Is something wrong?”
“Eh it’s nothing for you to worry about. Thank you” As I said this to him, I dashed off.
“Ah! But you can’t-”
I stormed to the garden. And I didn’t let the guy who bumped into me finish what he was saying. I was in a hurry and needed answers. Now!
When I arrived, I saw the Class president sleeping on the tree breach. I looked at him emotionlessly, and then I suddenly kicked the tree to wake him up. I started to understand why Kala did this to me.
He cried in pain, “Ow-oww, who woke me up from my sleep!! I told everyone not to wake me up”
“Me! You dumbass! Why are you here!? I didn’t hear that there will be more people in this assignment!”
“Eh… you didn’t hear from our leader?”
“NO! That’s why I’m asking you, ‘Cerulean Vamp’!” I pointed at him with frustration. “I thought you were in Europe to assassinate the pope!”
“Well the plan changed in the last minute. I thought they told you in your messages…” he averted his gaze, “today.” He smiled innocently on that last word to make himself as if he wasn’t involved.
My phone rang and I checked on it. I saw the message from our leader and read it.
I know this is sudden, but you will be meeting with Sunil to work with the assignment that you took. I hope you can learn everything from him and treat him with the highest respect. I hope you won’t cause any trouble for him. Thank you.
How was the lunch I made for you, good?”
I stared at the phone and was standing there rereading the message again and again hoping it was a mistake.
“So that’s that” he smiled like a devil, “I hope we can work together, Sara”
I thought I was hearing this and finally I screamed out loud, “n-n-no-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
