Rains of Love

Rains of Love

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Painting by Josephine Wall

"

I feel like a blossom
 upon a prickly pear cactus
waiting for the touch
of sultry desert rains;
 I want to be kissed
the way the sunshine kisses
 the breast of a meadowlark.

I want to feel the rains of love
the lavender rains
replenishing my soul,
not a mirage, but reality
within my heart.

Eerie echos of a coyote
 serenade the stars
as you make me blush
like a brown-eyed evening
primrose.

Ravish my bones
be my raven in the night,
beneath a wingspan
of desert moonlight.

Your words just flow into my heart and makes me think of my raven in the night. A beautiful poem of love and romance. I loved it. Tell me what you think of my work when you have a chance.

To capture all the beauty around we must not just open not just our eyes, but open our hearts....as you have in this poem.

Thank you Paul...so nice of you to peek in today...SyberRose
The first poem I have read from this writer, and a good one, shades of classical romantic poetry moved nicely into a more modern verse form..

I feel a moment has been captured, I like the reference to birds, especially the Raven as it gives it a dark and brooding feel.

Oh thanks :-)
Okay. You captured the moment and explained exactly what you are expecting to happen in that moment. I'm so envious that you can describe a kiss thusly . . .

" I want to be kissed
the way the sunshine kisses
the breast of a meadowlark."

There is absolute magic in those words, SyberRose. The rest of the poem . . . Well, all I can say is that the magic seeps through each and every line. Darn good writing!
