I Hold You

I Hold You

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Painting by Josephine Wall

"

I hold you dear to my heart
under lock and key
in the treasure chest of my mind,
Thoughts of you play on
like an old movie,
but you will never be
"Gone With The Wind"
And as you walked away
the whispers in my heart screamed,
like Scarlett O'hara
"Please, please dont go, take me with you"
but you left me feeling
like a common morning glory
within the tousled sheets
of a bad hair day.

Thanks honey...hugss
Wow, the imagery here was deep and stunning! How truthfully you portray the pleasure and pain of this communion of love which slips away like sand in the merciless hands of time...beautifully done!
Kudos!
Ru.

Thank you Ru for those nice comments and for the friend request too...SyberRose
I just love this piece. I love "my heart screamed like Scarlett O'Hara" (I think all women have a Southern Belle inside them). I like the contrast too between the imagery of treasure at the beginning and the down-to-earth reality of a "bad hair day." It always amazes me how the most mystical things can happen side-by-side with mundane occurences.

Thank you for reading and commenting...I do appreciate it...SyberRose
Imagery at the end was very relatable, Viv Leigh, did apparently suffer with bad hair ( I remember reading a biography of her life about 25 years ago), thanks for this, it is amazing how the memory works
