Grains of Sand

Grains of Sand

A Poem by SyberRose

In slumber of darkness when all is still

Only the fragrance...a sleeping daffodil

I hear whispers echoing in the night

Love letters written in sands of moonlight~

Envelope of the night sealed by oceans kiss

Tucked away below in ocean of abyss

Although lovers have died so long ago

Hearts still ache for someone they used to know~

Upon the shore of a thousand years past

Ribbon of tears wrapped around the winds mast

Footprints embedded upon salt kissed shores

Shadows searching for the love they adored~

Lost within mysteries and grains of sand

A shadow reaching...reaching for a hand.

I don't know why, perhaps it's because I haven't been writing for awhile... But I can't seem to think of anything to say... All I can say is, I like this. I've enjoyed it. :)

P.s. I thought the dog was adorable. Probably wouldn't have logged back on if I hadn't see the email telling me you've commented on my page.

thank you so much Brandon...nice to hear from you as always...Rose:)
The yearning and longing of the past love is well captured in this piece. Rhyme scheme is impeccable while the rhythm is soothing. The imagery painted on the last line is very vivid that i could clearly picture it in my mind. wonderful write.

Thank you Will...Anto did all the work and also he played the guitar too...i'm glad you enjoyed :)
This really touched me, Rose. I can 'feel' for those poor lost souls shipwrecked amid those raging seas, and their 'personalities' washed ashore, only their souls are left to wander amid the sands looking for their loved ones...the punch line at the end brought tears to my eyes. A great poem. Daffy
