A Dolorous Night

A Dolorous Night

A Poem by SyberRose

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

drowning in the pounding rain,

washes away like the riverbanks clay,

over red clover terrain.

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

crying is the mourning dove,

flees about in the desert drought,

neath' the moon’s heath; thereof.

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

dying with the ebbing time,

mirage of trees in the oasis breeze,

in the cold and fool’s gold clime.

When we yet wish know the action is fruitless. Is it better to believe in something foolishly then never to have believed at all? This is my take one your beautiful poem.

What a beautiful flow of words, dramatic yet almost whispering. To read a poem and at once feel the emotion yet containment of it, is so rare. Methinks each reader could find a personal take on what's set down.. tis for us to interpret and feel.. and I do.

Perhaps better a foolhardy wish than none at all. Many thank yous.

there is such longing in this, but i don't believe that it is foolhardy...it may seem like reaching for fool's gold...but all we as for is some love and peace of mind...
time keeps passing...and that moon keeps uncovering more and more...

Thank you Jacob for reading and responding as always...Rose:)
This is bona fide 100% Syber Rose at her best. Bittersweet and so full of yearning - the reader can't help but be swept up in the beautiful sadness of this one.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Those foolhardy wishes can be from those painful and tortuous pasts or times. It feels like the drought will never end where the thirsting soul need the rain...Excellent...:)............
