A Dolorous Night

A Dolorous Night

A Poem by SyberRose

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

drowning in the pounding rain,

washes away like the riverbanks clay,

over red clover terrain.

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

crying is the mourning dove,

flees about in the desert drought,

neath' the moon’s heath; thereof.

A foolhardy wish in the dolorous night

dying with the ebbing time,

mirage of trees in the oasis breeze,

in the cold and fool’s gold clime.
