Run

Run

A Poem by Vee

            My heart it beats wildly,
Adrenalin rushes to my brain,
My breath is harsh and ragged,

Shaken, scared, wild with fear,
Run away before the return,
And hope I am not caught,

Running, faster hope is gained,
Quickly now we’re almost there,
Soon I will be gone,

What was that It could not be,
He is coming forth,
I hide behind a willow here,

Slow and steady I cannot let him know,
Snapped a stick but do they hear,
Deep intake of breath,

I here his approach and run away,
He follows as I run,

“Tag”, He screams and catches me,

Haha, the ending made me laugh. I thought the character was in trouble or something. One thing though, where you say "Snapped a stick but do they here", I think you mean "hear". That was my favorite line of the poem by the way :)

You've managed to bring me back to my childhood, and for that I am grateful.
I really liked the whole concept, and your writing really drew my in.
I do wish the font was a little smaller though - I actually found myself tilting my head away from the screen in order to read it properly.
Thank you for sharing your vision with us.

I loved this! It was a great twist at the end! I had forgotten what it was like to be a child playing tag! This poem brought back memories. Nice work!
