You'll Be Back

You'll Be Back

A Poem by Sylvia Ransom
"

Just sick of the pain, when you come back, I won't be here...

"

You’ll Be Back

Take my heart,

Make it useful,

I don’t want it,

You’ve already torn it out,

What the hell am I supposed to do with it now?

You smiled and you told me lies,

You gave me hope,

But then suddenly you decide there’s no more hope,

And you vanish,

Taking my still bleeding heart with you.

You’ll come back,

Like you always do,

You’ll come back,

And I’ll still love you,

You’ll be back,

But we are through,

You’ll be back,

But I now hate you.

 Keep your promises,

Your worthless excuses,

Your arms will stay empty,

And your heart broken,

If the pieces of your heart get lonely,

Tell them to look down,

And join mine that you’ve already forgotten.

You said you wanted my heart,

So I gave it to you,

You think you can just leave,

And give it back to me,

My heart is yours,

It’s with you,

There beside your feet.

 One day you’ll be back,

Just like I said you would,

One day you’ll be back,

Begging for me again,

One day you’ll be back,

Asking for me to love you again,

One day you’ll be back,

And I’ll look at you and say,

I don’t want to hurt you,

But I can’t give you hope,

I can’t lead you on,

And when you reach out to me,

You’ll know that I am already gone.

I won’t be back,

Begging for you to stay,

I won’t be back,

To hear the I love you’s play,

I won’t be back,

To see your pretty smile,

I won’t be back,

How does my back look to you?

Does it remind you of something?

I won’t be back,

But I’ll love you,

No matter how many times you break my heart,

I just know that it’s over now.

Oh my gosh! This touched me the most in all of the poems that I have read. It has happened to me once, I never see the boy again. (Only on rare occasions) Thank you for writing this, I absolutely can relate to it. :)

About
I am me. I am not your friend, I am not your enemy, I am myself, and I won't ever change because I am who I want to be. If you don't like that, well too damn bad. I have been pushed around and lied to.. more..
