May Body Travel

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

About my aspiration to break out of the monotony of my life and do something I'm proud of.

"
I feel my bones creak,
my heart beating too fast.
There's that odd feeling on my cheeks,
the tightness of skin after tears dry.
I want to break out of my body,
leave the broken and beat-up parts behind.
I must carry my nerve-endings away,
to a place my past can't find me.

Such a powerful piece of work! I am sure we have all felt doing this at sometime or another! Great work!
