Dear Friend

Dear Friend

A Poem by T
"

being inspired to write again

"

Take me to the edge
of your cool stream of inspiration
let me feel the healing sensation
push me in

cause I've been submerged too long
in the polluted river of my tattered past
not able to stop myself from sinking

and gasping from the cold of remembrance

and YOU
you have a way of making me want to swim again
flowing with the current , not against
showing me that there are oceans of possibilites
in a  simple stream.

That the sum total of friendship, love, any strong emotion involving another person and is beautifully constructed. It's brief and clear in its thought and message.

Thank you for letting me read and share your words.

I've been submerged too long
in the polluted river of my tattered past

Well written I love the above lines, perfect sentiments.

This is a well written piece, spoken as one who has seen the darkside and found themselves back on the pathe of light.

Excellent writting.

I usually turn a blind eye toward words of inspiration, finding them so full of simple foofoo that does not apply. Yet this piece, sneaks up on you in its inspiration - it is right there - but it lacks the foofoo, and for that it does a good job...

T, I love the inspiring and uplifting tone in this poem. You have captured the essence of spring, a fresh breeze, a cool stream, the morning light, of tulips blooming again, not in the world without but the world within. I read and can't help but smile at the joy I see in the desire to swim again, to dive headfirst, to strip bare and celebrate before bird and squirrel, under sun and cloud, arms outstretched, eyes upturned, palms vibrating with the energy of life being lived.

A couple years ago I picked up Gene Wolfe's first book in the New Sun series, randomly, not knowing who he was. I was just in the bookstore browsing and the cover caught my eye. Well, I read the first fifty pages and stopped, not because the book was not good, but because I had to go back and swim in the language I couldn't believe I was reading. The experience renewed my interest in what could be done with the written word and renewed my inspiration to improve my skills with the written word, that an author could wield words such to make them sing as if wielding a whip of language above his head. Those kinds of experiences are few and far between, but when they happen, there is a before and an after. And those kinds of experiences make all the difference in the world.

In case you couldn't tell, I really like this one. :-)

An artist must paint and a writer must write. I'm not sure, but I think God might have made some of us that way so we could help him reveal the beauty of the world to others. By all means, Tmiller, jump into that cool stream of inspiration and show us what it yields.

The piece is simple. It reminds me of the rant I did about my best friend and what we mean to each other. I liked the gentle flow.

Great write!
