SEA

SEA

A Poem by T. F. Rice
"

An oldie... about wanting to have that passion for life again...

"

Sea

Sometimes I want to flee,

stumble down the steps to the sea,

fight the sand with all my might,

then breathe in the tears of the sea.

Would I feel passion return to me

if I could seize up my thoughts and be

a thrashing, fighting, wanting one again;

And then arise out of the sea,

remembering that death still waits for me.

Then I would know value in life again.

I just want to want to live;

I want to feel alive again.

The rhythm of the first two lines is my favourite part of this poem, but I think as a whole, the first 4 lines are absolutely beautiful.

Nice work.
