PossessionA Chapter by TKBickelSamantha sensed herself falling forward. Sam’s worried call, asking if she was ok, sounded distant. A long drugged out minute pasted as the numbness melted away. Her brain felt crowded. Like a child being scolded, something shoved her conciseness into a small corner of her mind. Feeling returned to a tight grip on both arms. Sam asked again if she was ok. She wanted to open her eyes and answer but couldn’t. Her control freak side wavered. This new experience didn’t settle over well. She needed to control something, anything. If I can’t use my body, maybe I can reach him with my mind. She pushed forward, reaching out and ran smack into a mental brick wall. Damn. Unbeknownst to her, Sam’s conciseness scratched on the other side. It’s rather crowded in here. I don’t think we need a third romping around here too. Being in the dark with a strange voice in her head, left a sense of being trapped in a blacken closet with the Boogieman, prey of its will and whims. Malmisha? Sam was doing his best to hold her up. Being cut off from her left a gapping hole inside, causing a panic wave through him. “Damn it Sammie answer me!” Malmisha took full control, up right her body and stepped back from Sam. He found vivid green eyes with a white haze staring back as they opened. The strange eyes started to roam and scan the surroundings until they fell on Kelsey. A deep smile emerged on Samantha’s face. It was Samantha’s voice but the enunciation of a foreign accent wrapped around the English language, giving it a strange alien sound. “Kelsey, don’t be shy. Come to me.” Samantha felt her arms raise, beckoning to Kelsey with the strange sound of her voice. This is just way to freaky. Cautiously Kelsey moved closer, “Malmisha.” She felt Malmisha touch Kelsey’s heated cheek with her hand. “It’s good to finally be able to speak to you. The spirit stepped closer and removed Samantha’s hand to tangle the fingers into the soft fiery red curls, bringing them to Samantha’s nose. As he inhaled deeply, a hint of vanilla tickled her nose while she saw a vision of a woman dying in masculine arms. A, “I’m sorry,” muffled in the red locks was full of remorse His response surprised Kelsey. “For what?” For a moment, Samantha thought he was going to kiss Kelsey. Mick watched the fairly erotic laced girl on girl scene, loving the thought to let it play out but he knew this was against Samantha’s free will. She wouldn’t like one bit of it and would put a boot in his butt for letting it go on. He started to end it but Sam beat him to it. “Malmisha, what happen to this devotion to Orelana?” Angry eyes met Sam’s. “Remember you are a guest.” He dropped his or her hand. An alien laugh intertwined with the sound of Samantha came out. “She’s a feisty one. I was just informed to behave or she will bust my balls, as soon as I find any.” A tug of a smile played on Sam’s lips. “That’s my girl.” Malmisha approached Sam and peered up. “Are you sure? There are traces of other lingering life essences. She’s rather a w***e with giving her own away.” Sam struggled to hold his anger in check. Blue eyes blazed behind the long cloak of hair. He growled through gritted teeth. “If you were in any other body I would be teaching you some manners.” “Careful, you might do something you’ll regret. Besides…I can see now that not all was given freely.” Samantha had a vision of Rayzon over her, crushing and taking what he wanted from her. B*****d! Yes he is. No, I meant you. Stay out of my memories. The next memory was Rayzon’s decapitation. Malmisha spoke for all to hear. “Rayzon’s death was quick, a luxury he didn’t deserve. It’s to bad he didn’t suffer in trade for what he had done to others. I shouldn’t be surprised that you and your protector were the ones to finally take him down.” Samantha voiced the confusion on everyone’s face. I don’t understand. “I’m sorry Samantha, I forgot your pass memories are not intact. I remember you as a strong spirited girl.” The brothers piped up. “You know Sammie?” Samantha saw a flash of a sad young girls face with blond hair, green eyes and high cheek bones. I know you? “Yes, now that I’m part of you, I know who you are, or was, why I’m pulled to you. The name I know you by is Teliegh. You tried to help me.” The dying lady flashed again. Is that Orelana? No, Malmisha moved her eyes over Kelsey. Instantly, Samantha understood. She knew who killed Orelana, I lost control. You tried to help me save her. Mick shadowed Sam and grew more agitated by the second. He didn’t care for the one sided conversations but had held his patience. The patience finally caved with the silences. This not hearing a damn thing blows. “I had the impression you wanted to talk to all of us.” Samantha or rather Malmisha snickered. Samantha missed the humor. What’s so funny? They don’t know? Know what? They are one of us. What do you mean one of us? All that stands here, do not truly belong to this realm. She was just starting to absorb the reality she was different but couldn’t adjust to Sam and Mick as the same. Well I guess it makes since with the changes happening to them. I thought it was my fault. It is your fault. What? Just as Rayzon had awoken forgotten ways in you-you have done the same. When you mixed your energy essence with theirs, you started the change. Samantha caught a glimpse of Mick fidgeting. Tell the story so they can hear it. Very well. “I was telling her I know her and she tried to help me save a life.” Do not tell Kelsey. She doesn’t need to know. It will only complicate the good life she has now. Samantha hesitated. I can’t promise that. Yes you will or I will not be telling you anymore. Hesitating again, she weighed her options, which were zilch. Fine, I won’t tell her. Happy now? Malmisha tugged a smile at the corner of her lips and continued the story. “There was a power struggle against the high Niagilety families. In your language Niagilety means royalty. Orelana was in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was murdered, taken from me!” If Samantha had control of her vocals, a scream would have ripped from her throat as the fury of pain surged through her body. She knew this pain. This pain greeted her when she tried to let Sam go, a chance for him to be free of her. The pain subsided to the damp feel of a tear trailing down her cheek. As she replied, I’m sorry, Sam echoed her thoughts. “I’m sorry for your loss.” Kelsey moved to comfort Malmisha but was halted by a rising hand. “A woman, close friend to my family, knew who killed my beloved Orelana. I lost control in my interrogation. I damaged her beyond my ability to heal her or maybe I was just to emotional to control the healing weave. Teliegh, and her protector, found me trying to heal the woman. She jumped in determined to help heal her but she was young and only had a few lessons to life weaving. It was the first time she saw life slip from a body. I’m not sure which one of us took it the hardest. Maybe it was her protector since he took his frustrations out on my hide for exposing her to such a traumatic experience. He was rather over protected of you.” Malmisha or rather Samantha’s eyes held on Mick over Sam’s shoulder. “Are you still?” © 2012 TKBickelReviews
