Here is My Everything

Here is My Everything

A Chapter by TL Boehm
"

its a GODPOEM - if you don't like poems about faith - don't read it.

"

Here is my broken heart

Here is my shattered life

Here are all my faults and failures

As a woman a mother and wife

All the promises I've broken

All the hateful things I've said

All the life I left unspoken

Wasting my breath upon the dead

Here is my sweat and sacrifice

Here is my blood and pain

My hollow effort to pay some price

Worry wasted for no gain

All the lies I cling to

All the truth I threw away

All the darker thoughts I bring you

Waste my steps and run astray

Here’s the sum of my existence

Here’s the hardest part to learn

This wretched pride and persistence

Stokes a bonfire set to burn

All I am at the end of me

All damage done that I could do

All that’s left is the love that sets me free

Everything comes from you

This wretched pride and persistence -- great lines...these really grabbed me.

A heartbreaking write, but there is that shred of hope that I have come to expect from your work--those last two lines that speak of "love setting you free" made me smile. Strong, emotional and honest work.

Wise words, indeed, a beautiful poem of love and forgiveness and written passionately and with an adroit pen.

thank you so much
Pretty much any poem I write is inspired by God. He gives me every word, rhythm, and rhyme. I think the same thing has occured here, because this poem is excellent. It's very reminiscent of Crowder's song "Here's My Heart" from the Passion album. Loved it. Glorifying to God, and confession of faith in Christ, the two most important things. Loved it, just loved it.

And just because something is "secular" does not mean it is not from God. If God gives a musician the gift of a good voice and the ability to play guitar, and he sings good songs (that are not sinful in their nature) it is just as glorifying because it is all God's wonderful creation. In our case, God has given us the ability to write. If we write good stories, poems, etc., we are using those gifts that HE gave us, therefore He is glorified; whether or not they are secular. As long they are not sinful in nature, meaning they don't encourage sin, like writing about sex out of marriage or breaking the law or something like that.
