Psalm in the Park

Psalm in the Park

A Poem by TTBoy28

I read a Psalm in the Park

and it made the birds stop singing

it was one that darkened the sky

and caused the leaves to twirl

the tiny creatures made their way home

and the big ones lowered their heads

I read a Psalm in the Park

just in time for the Festival of Nations

the nations stopped taking calls on the red phone

It was disconnected due to abuse

and the inability to locate the abuser

the trees were so beautiful

I read a Psalm in the Park

because it was the best place

to watch a miracle happen

When it was over the birds sang

the sky brightened

 the leaves stood still

because Psalms are prayers in song

 that don't need an audience

 just its creations

You are right psalms are prayers in song. Great idea....you probably want to work on the second and last verses,,,the second verse.... from the 4th line (because ...let it sound a little more like poetry... you may want to delete 'because"......in the following line you may delete "and"..the last verse the first two lines are quite sufficient......let the readers come to their own conclusion why the birds continued with their singing. Just simple thoughts......hope you find them interesting......

regards,
Vincent
