Love Got the Best of Me

Take my hand 

feel within this girl's heart

it skips uncontrollable beats

weakening me to the core

I'm feeling life exist no more

pain aims rock bottom

I'm numb to walking away

with nothing but tears

to burn my expressions

bubbling up flowing saltiness

drip drip to my dry lips

hurt thoughts pushed me 

to the edge

on my knees I had to pray.

This is so imaginative, it feels like a teeter-totter of love exploration! The title suggests that this might be a blissful situation, but as the poem goes on, some of your imagery feels downright difficult! I've never felt any kind of love like this, but I'm sure it happens. I am often sick of the typical sounding love poems, so I love it when a writer takes a love stroll down a totally unexpected path!
