Sink or swim

Sink or swim

A Poem by Mara

She's standing on a Clif
The oceon a siren
A beautiful deathly hymn.
The wind pushes her back,
Almost like its begging her to stay

The sky breaks,
and starts to weep
Rain drops coat her cheeks like tears

Closed eyes, Deep breath in
She flies.

Gravity wins
Pulling her down
The sea welcomes her with brutality
Hugging, squeezing, suffercating her until she is a toy for the waves

A roaring protest
sounds from heaven

She blinks
Salt water burning her eyes
Light awakens the sky in flashes

A reply from god?
She thinks...

Perhaps not,
A smile..
Acceptance
Peace.

Sink or swim. Can't do both. You took the reader to bad place and hard decisions. The good description allowed the reader to feel the thoughts and know the options. Thank you Tee for sharing the amazing poetry.
