A few things

A few things

A Poem by Alex Falkner
"

About time I let you see, a bit of the lighter side of me.

"

There are three things parents need more of.

 1: Money.

As the little buggers grow they eat more, need bigger clothes and need more stuff.

 2: Spare time.

Remember the days when we used to stay up all night playing PlayStation, watching movies and having dinner at 3 am when we finally realized we were hungry.

3: Sex.

Do I really need to explain why?

I value my youth even more! But one thing that I do that's on your list is the eating dinner bit. Sometimes I eat, sometimes I don't. All depends if my stomache and mind reach a consensus, which rarely happens.

Stomache: "I'm hungry, let's eat."
Brain/Mind: "Anna's gonna get chubby if we eat."
Stomache: "But I'm really hungry."
Brain/Mind: "Who cares?! Eat the stored fat you have down there!"

I know, I'm the picture of health :D

Parenthood is not easy. Despite all the warnings, no-one is ever really prepared for parenthood. We all have to experience it to understand it! I still think it is worth it though. Our two sons left home years ago, and have wives of their own, but they still cost us money whenever they visit! They raid the fridge, borrow books and CDs (which I might see again one day!), but we still love them. Thanks for the smile (and the frown!).

Dear Tammy

As I have got to know you quite well by now, I am pleased that you, like I do try at times to look at lighter topics.

The words of the Monty Python film, Life of Brian: 'Life's a load of s**t, when you think of it. Always look on the bright side of life.'

They're hidden in the ending of my short story on here 'The Lightness of Choux Pastry'.

I love your one-liners in the mails we exchange at times.

There was one last night about smoking and children, which I read out to Susan and we were rolling with laughter!

Can I do a long review here?

Must be joking.

I agree with every word.

There is a another practical difficulty. I am smiling so much I can't type and there is every risk my laptop might fall off my knees and smash on the floor.

That about wraps it up!

Another expertly worded longwinded Hanna-Magill eloquent commentary (cough)!

Love to you

From me and Susan x
