What's Behind the Mask

What's Behind the Mask

A Poem by Serenity

What lies behind the glittery masks?

The feathers sequence and colors

With Big Bangs, and Flaring Flasks

Plastic things in which you do smother

What lies behind the mask of pain?

Is it lost eyes or saddened tears?

It’s really all the same

We have just forgotten through the years

What lies behind the mask of joy?

Kind eyes, a grin of pleasure

Or a smile just as coy

What’s behind the mask is the ultimate treasure

What Type of Mask is yours?

I like this poem. It is very true and identifies that everyone has a mask of some sort. When are you truly without a mask? You spend most of your life living by other people, you forget you are your own person and what that really is....

Well done. :)
