Human Chess Game

Human Chess Game

A Poem by Tania Leigh

my thoughts

are poison, seeping through

the thin walls of my veins

evil is the blood that feeds me,

rushing to and through my brain.

my laughter makes them nervous, and

they wonder might I be insane?

but I just laugh at  ignorance,

they’re chosen pawns in my

human chess game and

unaware of their roles, oblivious of

their fates, clueless of the carnage

to ensue when I call

checkmate

I liked this one a lot also.
The setup threw the rhyming off for me when I was reading it,
but I am not telling you to change it for sure.
Maybe you could experiment with it and see what you think.
Thanks for sharing.

One of my favorite games from way back! My brother played chess at school and he needed someone to beat. lol. A totally different scenerio but your poems always bring back bursts of here and there, I'm using brain cells I forgot about!
Your words--I would have to bring the whole poem down here!! Every word goes together and paints such a vivid picture of scary thoughts. You really tie it all in so nicely with the chess theme and the pic is outstanding. A dynamite, explosive write!
