Doubt

Doubt

A Poem by Tania Leigh

My thoughts are like rolling thunder

that carelessly torments once silent skies.

My fear is like lightning that I feel paralyzed under

and my tears fall as the rain does when Mother Nature cries.

My feelings seek shelter from the storm and I begin to wonder

if my umbrella of courage will ever open after so many tries.

Those doubts that fester in our minds thought sometimes not always detected are our worst enemy as they hold us back from reaching for our dreams but we can turn it into our greatest strength as if we use it as a motivational tool to strive for the impossible... I love the vulnerability of the human side that you so powerfully display in such few words... A fav of mine.

The image of the umbrella was an unexpected and perfect metaphor for doubt. It felt shaky, unsure. Perfect.

Wow, this is so poignant. Lovely use of imagery and excellent refrains of hope. I hope the sun shines so brightly you'll only need the umbrella for shade.
Much love~~

Wow, I really loved this piece, and not only because I often feel this way. Doubt can murder anything great if we truly allow it to happen.

Wow. I'm not sure what to say about this. I loved it, don't get me wrong. It's a great medaphore for doubt, I must say that. It's like, you've been in doubt for so long, you're hoping you can cope with this next moment as the doubt continues.

Very well written.

THIS IS SHORT, YET SAYS SO VERY MUCH! I REALLY LIKE THE RHYMING SCHEME, THE ANALOGIES AND THE TONE. THE SECOND STANZA IS MY FAVORITE! GREAT READ. BARBARA

the poem holds so much intrecacies to it's theme "doubt"; the small worries and yet big concerns of a passer day :) ---mishel
