Serenity

Serenity

A Poem by Tashida
"

Enjoy! :)

"

The sun peeks out from underneath the blanket of the horizon

My dark cacao eyes glisten with the reflection of this breathtaking sight

A collection of light pinks and vibrant reds fill the sky

My heart beats slowly… calmly… peacefully

Locks of amber hair brush against my face as it gently sways in the cool breeze,

Trying to keep up with the blindingly white dress I’m wearing -- its  satin ruffles swaying with the wind.

My toes curl up as the olive green blades of grass each tickle my feet

“Serenity”, I think to myself. “I’d always wondered what it felt like.”

A subtle smile toys with my lips

As I slowly drift into this peaceful world created by me…

Imagine that: A world created just for me… made to serve only me…

Until now, I’d always wondered what that felt like.

It certainly delivers the images in a form that induces serenity. Nicely layered to a complete painting which the reader can 'slip into' gently.
'Enjoy' you said.
'Enjoy' I did.
