Faded Thread

Faded Thread

A Poem by Michelle Grayson

Gone from the world is a tattered blanket of yesterday

It’s warn and well used thread,

Faded colors, having lost the their joy

And images of flowers, now forever dead.

The butterflies and birds

That once chirped through a girls dreams

Have flown to other realms,

They’re no longer here, it seems.

The sunlight still shines

And the moon light still beams

But the material they would lay their light on

Is missing in their celestial themes.

While something’s are made to last

A girls blanket is not one.

Makes me wonder where the hope will be found

When the world seems to come undone.

The coming of age is never really easy

I wish I could of had one more day with that blanket

When there are things that haunt and are sleazy.
