Dare To Dream

Dare To Dream

A Poem by Tayler
"

The last stanza is a companion to my poem Disney Lies :)

"

Some people dream of fairy tales; of princes in sweeping cloaks riding upon dashing steeds.

Some people dream of adventure; of getting on the plane or in the car and just driving. No destination, no point, not a real reason in sight.

Some people simply do, act on desire and don't ignore dreams.

It is so these people, who make their dreams a reality, that I dedicate this too.

Dream a Dream,

Dance under the stars,

Spread your arms wide

Don't be afraid of how far.

Dreams don't just happen,

When you shut your eyes and sleep,

They follow you everywhere; the perfect companion,

Not just when you're counting sheep.

Some people dream the same,

 of money, lust, and fame,

Of travel and excitment,

Of heated love and circling doves.

They've got it in their mind,

That dreams will never come true,

Just small worlds to escape in,

When good things in reality run so few

You can keep it an escape,

That's what most people do,

Keep in your mind,

To keep it from coming true

But it's always possible,

Those great thoughts can always become real,

You're own personal medicine,

Helping through to heal.

Though Disney may have lied,

Princes don't exsist for our sakes,

But Cinderella was so very, very right,

A Dream is a Wish your Heart Makes.

This is a nice poem. There is a sweet message here. I like the way you reframed the true meaning of happiness. I also got a feeling that we should not sit and wait for a miracle, but sometimes it is within our own reach.
