Lost Behind These Walls

Lost Behind These Walls

A Poem by Kiara

If I slit my wrists with this
Will I die and know I'm not alive.
Or will I survive?
It's all this stress mixed with loneliness.
Does no one see I'm still alive?

I'm an empty shadow
Flowing in the tide,
Slowing to hide.
From the people that row,
They flow right by my side.

I must not appear.
They mustn't see
What's become of me.
They don't know I'm anywhere near here.
I cannot let them see the real me, lost at sea.

I'll build my walls tall
So they'll all be blind
And will never find
This flaw behind this wall.
I'll be lost for none to find.

I'm hiding my secrets in this,
Lost to die but I'm still alive.
I am the shadow
No one can see or hear.
I can hide
Forever behind this wall.
I'll be lost for none to find.
