The RiderA Poem by Kiara
The thunder roars
And lightning strips away The trees on the shores. The thunder asserts its forte. The rider is seated Upon a bulky steed. The night is heated With his hate and greed. The women and children Shriek at the sound Of their men Being sleighed and falling to the ground. The rider takes off his helmet And stands. The town has paid its debt. The rider understands. The rider flips back his long hair And there stands a girl, Without worry or care. She turns, her hair a whirl. The girl turns her back On the destroyed home of hers. She prepares to attack Before another town stirs.
