Sew My Lips Into a Smile

Sew My Lips Into a Smile

A Poem by Kiara

I'll stretch myself out,
Wear myself down.
I'll go through it all,
But don't see me for who I'm not.
I'll sew the smile
Into my skin,
Praying my lips
Won't give in.
If pretending is what they need,
I'll just have to try.
I'll hold in all the shattered glass,
Never allowing my lips to cry.
If my lips should part,
It would just be to speak my heart.
"This world is broken
And though I'm wearing myself thin,
I'll never give in.
I won't let the darkness win."

This almost sounds like an intro for a song. :) Good job!
