If only my dreams were real

Then your smile would match my smile

Our hands could hold each other

And we could sit and talk awhile

If only my dreams were real

The world would fade away

And we could have a moment in time

To say what we need to say

If only my dreams were real

Then so close our bodies could be

That our lips could brush together

And satisfy a need

If only my dreams were real

I could speak to you from my soul

And your feelings would reflect mine

As you pull me to you to hold

If only my dreams were real

Sometimes they are it seems

When I can almost feel your touch

Then realize its only dreams

Really loved this poem. Took me back to a girl I used to hang about with in our little gang.....I so so so fancied her and would always think up things that we'd be doing together but it was only in my mind. She knew how I felt but we knew that we'd only just be friends

I always love simple words, though I'm not hating on complex words.. It's just that I feel simple words can connect with the reader better, and you have done just that. And good job with the rhymes.

In the last line, I think it should be "..realize they're only..".
