Sarah Smile

Sarah Smile

A Poem by Tenebrousoul
"

For Sarah

"
I see you there, baby,
There's no smile on your face.
Stewing in misery and self reproach,
Feeling like an utter disgrace.

A tear rolls down
your saddened cheek,
Let me wipe it away for you,
Let me be the comfort you seek.

Let me hold your hand,
Hold you in my arms,
Let me keep you safe,
Away from troubled charms.

You deserve to be happy
Not so down and blue.
I want to see you happy,
What is it that I can do?

Take this rose, this kiss,
These shiny things,
Diamonds, rubies and gold,
Silver, pearls, and rings.

I'll give them up to you
Just to see a smile
I'd go through the dark woods at night,
I'll walk any extra mile

To ease this pain,
To free you from this weight you're trapped under.....
I want to be here for you.

Good poem, the first line reminds me for some reason of Bob Dylan.

There is such a beautiful, bittersweet longing.. a desire to bring joy in the midst of life's painful music.. Lifting and real.

This is lovely. The flow of this poem is almost lighthearted, teasing. Combined with the tender words, we see a man at her side, gently trying to lighten her sadness, using any tool he can to snap her back to where he can take away her hurt.

Just lovely - Both the words and the feeling behind them~
