The scenery going down to Corpus Christi.

"

Trees made skeletal by drought or hard frost and bleached by the sun line the roadside.

Green and sun-bleached cacti accent barbwire fences every few yards.

Lakes and rivers and creeks made shallow by drought pass below.

Cotton fields are brown and sparse after the Summer harvest.
