Some peace in the end

Some peace in the end

A Poem by The Raven King

I hate what you've made me.

I used to be innocent.

I used to be blind and happy.

I broke free of my bible bred bookworm youth all my own.

But it took you to break me.

You have filled me with questions that can never be answered,

decisions that no conscience should have to make.

I loved you with all I was.

Now I feel love for you malignant and consuming.

If an emotion is so foreign, so alien

can you truly possess it?

A creature tears at my insides and

chews on my sentimentalities.

You make morality a game and don't tell me the rules.

You rip love and sex apart and force them together again when it suits you.

But don't worry.

It's just a heart.

It's just a soul.
