A Poem by The Raven King

I long for that break in between kisses
that is filled to overflowing with the memory of kisses before and
the hunger for those to follow.

The daydreaming. The gazing.

The fingers locked in hair unwilling to
let me go without a fight and smelling of unwashed scalp and whatever
shampoo you used days ago.

While you slept I breathed you in. As
you exhaled I sucked you in. My contact high.

Those not so awkward silences filled
with stares.

Unsuccessfully eyes try to shield their
secrets, but yours open wide and I stroll in your soul unhindered

See the flaws pour from you like an
eight hundred year old church roof with more holes than souls

flaws making a murky soup on the floor
dripping a pattern so beautiful

for only the few who will bother to
look past their pride

I step into them and I change. My own
flaws making a pattern of stained glass so horrible and beautiful so
much more than before

dreams

my dreams

fantasy of a dying man

A tick tock man

a breathing in of ticks and breathing
out of tocks

When I think of my fantasy I forget I'm
a clock

and I smile

for a while
