I mingle my food with tears

I mingle my food with tears

A Poem by Rubein Geterminah
"

Description of persecution and trial

"
I mingle my food with tears
Tears by my acquainted adversaries
They wrongfully pay evil for my love
Beating, reviling, persecuting; while I eat
While I eat this once a day's meal;
Which the eaters eat!
In quietitude or not, the meal vanishes
As I arise or touch my bed
O Lord, the advasaries have plundered
But I cannot reply! So I wait in my bond
