Wait...It Might Be Your Stutter

Wait...It Might Be Your Stutter

A Poem by Katie Flores

Why do I come back?
Drawn in again.
When a curiosity for me is what you seem to lack.

Is it because you're tall?
And have wondrous blue eyes,
From whose stare my heart slowly dies.
But this is no excuse for how hard you let me fall.

Knowing for you this wasn't a conquest
great nor small.
This wasn't a conquest at all.

Is it because you're sweet?
And can seem to do no wrong?
While leaving me here alone to twitter my own song
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But wait.
Did I hear you?
Trying to twitter along?
All I heard was muttering,
Low glossy tones,
slowly vibrating through my bones.
But I think it's your stuttering ,
Although you seem to want to hide it,
It's your stuttering that makes you human
And brings you down from that
lofty tower
It's so nice know
That I might have you
Within My Power
