Exhausted

Exhausted

A Poem by The Exiled Wolf
"

With all the flashbacks and self-hate, I finally come to understand that time can erase nothing...

"

Oh my memory, oh my memory

Why are you so cruel to me?

Bringing back the fears, shedding poisoned tears,

The pain never disappears

Oh my soul, oh my soul

Why are you taking a heavy toll?

A nemesis within, a war I’ll never win

Torturing me for the innocent sin

Oh my life, oh my life

Is there still a reason to strife?

A maze of mourns, a path of thorns

How can I continue when I am torn?

Oh my God, oh my God

I pray for your staff and your rod

May the flashbacks cease,

Guide me from the stormy seas

And grant me the final peace

Strong emotion conveyed in this poem. I felt a soul in turmoil,, begging for peace of mind. Well written stanzas.

I'm blown away by this poem. It was really well written and has left me wordless. Well done!
