Drops of love in snow

Drops of love in snow

A Poem by ThePhoenixWriter

Christmas poem story, inspired by "boots" the song from The Killers

Hell's still alive keeping this heart a boiling strong
I like it
I feel it
I want it more and more
What happen to my hair
my eyes, my mind
My hours oh bleeding by
Each dollar i waste
Each bottle i drank
Each needle i dropped
It was a shame
I was to blame
I had forgot my name
No one recognized the pain
Each motion i made
Was just another way to get by
Another way to avoid being alive
Getting lost in my bottles
Wandering my life away
Each lap dance same as the other
Each drop of liquor for me, none for my brother
Took my chances at the shelter
Nobody even bothered
Leaving boot prints in the street
I dropped my bottle, by my feet
hearing the carols by a doorstep familiar
wandering for hours on end
I found the happy holiday cheer
Seeing my family so merry and welcoming
with open arms we loved the Christmas love
no liquor on my breath
Stars in my eyes
The holiday was ours
